    Position is contingent upon contract funding

    As the Engineering Assistant/GIS Surveyor , you will create and develop maps, relational databases and surveys utilizing AutoCAD for existing and new facilities on the base. The qualified candidate must possess the ability to analyze problems, envision solutions and develop deliverables in a fast paced and challenging work environment.

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Develops maps and relational databases to produce updated mapping, including, photo imagery, topography, floodplains, airfield pavements and features, roadway and transportation features, environmental features, facilities, and infrastructure
    • Accomplish surveys and translate collected GPS data into AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 for each survey or project.
    • Ensure that GIS data is available to initial design projects and confirms GIS data for projects entering final design.
    • Verifies design requirements and quality of work being performed.
    • Enter data describing existing and new facilities into Base Real Property Inventory records each week.
    • Enter project data containing buildings, utilities, or other land use items.
    • Assists with the transition of projects to those customers responsible for ongoing maintenance of space.
    • Creates or updates space usage information contained in S-Files.

    Education & Experience:

    • 2+ Years of Experience in Mapping/Surveying
    • Experience in all phases of surveying and mapping
    • Surveyor shall hold a Registered Professional Land Surveyor License from any United States State Survey Board of Licensure (or ability to obtain)
    • Capable of creating or updating space usage information contained in S-Files.
    • Full working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and ESRI Arc Map/Arc Editor plus Microsoft office products.
    • Differential leveling
    • Engineering Data Management/Data Collectors
    • GPS equipment usage (preferably Trimble equipment) and associated download software.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    · Valid US Passport (Preferred)

    · Valid US Driver’s License with clean driving report

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Secret Required

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in the English language) and the ability to make effective public presentations required
    • Must be able to work in excess of 40 hours per week, provide 24-hour on-call coverage on rotation and to respond to emergency calls as necessary
    • Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office, required
    • Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required
