    Engineering & Calibration Technician

    Responsibilities:

    Calibrate electronic and fiber optic test equipment according to procedures.

    Diagnose faults and repair fiber optic fusion splicing equipment and PCBs.

    Maintain service documentation and prepare required certificates, reports, and invoices.

    Coordinate repairs with production as needed to meet customer deadlines.

    Ensure efficient handling of customer equipment, including shipping and tracking.

    Manage spare parts inventory to meet customer needs.

    Maintain calibration equipment per quality standards and document all service processes in the RMA system.

    Suggest process improvements and ensure adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS).

    Provide accurate service quotes and invoices for completed work.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Handle all calibration, service, and repair of company products.

    Troubleshoot and repair component-level electronic and fiber optic assemblies.

    Meet service level agreements (SLAs) and customer deadlines.

    Continuously update knowledge of company products and test equipment.

    Support a flexible approach to additional tasks as needed for business success.

    Qualifications:

    Essential:

    Certified Production Technician (CPT) or equivalent.

    High School Diploma/GED.

    2+ years of technical experience in troubleshooting, (to component level) electronic repair/calibration and especially fusion splicing.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Understanding of circuit schematics, troubleshooting methods, utilizing oscilloscopes, and DMMs.

    Knowledge of optical and fiber optic technologies is a huge plus.

    Preferred:

    IPC-A-610 soldering or equivalent certification.

    Associate's degree in electronics/optical technology or equivalent.

    Experience with ERP/RMA systems, process improvement methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma).

    Familiarity with optical power meters, light sources, and network cabling systems.
