    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a highly motivated college student to join our transportation structures group in the Atlanta - Midtown office with the intent of extending a full time offer after graduation.

    This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

    This position will focus primarily on assisting with the design of Georgia based transportation projects. Projects are delivered using procedures typical to the Georgia Department of Transportation and local Georgia governments and municipalities.

    • Bridge Deck Design
    • PSC beam design
    • Substructure design
    • Geometry calculations
    • Bridge Jacking design
    • Quantity calculations
    • Other related design tasks

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Gathering, organizing, and analyzing field data under the supervision of an experienced team member to be used in the preparation of scientific reports.
    • Preparing high-quality figures, data tables, and technical reports.
    • Participating in site visits.
    • Develop knowledge of job-specific federal, state, and local laws and regulations and assigned job specifications.
    • Attending meetings and preparing meeting minutes.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field and must have completed at least three years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for the position. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
    • MicroStation and/or Autodesk familiarity.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrate effective time management, task prioritization, and strong interpersonal skills.

    Additional Information

    • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
    • Relocation assistance is not available.
    • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Atlanta, GA. The selected candidate must be available to work in Atlanta, GA on a scheduled basis.
