Engineering Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 150k/year - Kalamazoo, MI

• Our client is a full service engineering consulting firm with a team of over 200 professionals who deliver successful projects in government, commercial, educational, and energy organizations throughout Michigan and Indiana. • The Engineering Manager (internally titled Municipal Services Engineering Manager) reports directly to the Director of Engineering and is accountable for client engagement, project management, and leading the multi-office municipal sub-discipline team.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the Director of Engineering and Government Sector Lead to assign top talent to projects and build a strong pipeline for future roles and succession planning.
• Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with current and prospective municipal clients.
• Builds and nurtures connections with industry leaders and key strategic partners to expand business opportunities.
• Monitors and enhances team performance, ensuring balanced workloads and high productivity.
• Coordinates scheduling across locations and disciplines to deliver exceptional projects to clients.
• Oversees project financials, ensuring healthy backlog, meeting utilization targets, and managing overhead costs efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• PE Licensure in Michigan and/or Indiana
• 10+ years of experience managing municipal projects; storm, sanitary, water, local roads
• 10+ years of experience in A/E/C industry with a record of municipal client retention/attraction
• Experience leading and building a strong engineering team; drives results by inspiring, planning, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
• Strong technical skills for storm, sanitary, water, and local roads projects
• Proven experience consulting or partnering with local, regional, and state government
• Proficient with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, Unanet preferred
