    Our streaming video SDK is at the forefront of technology, leveraging modern video codecs, adaptive bitrate streaming, low-latency streaming, and support for live streaming.     The Core Video JavaScript team is looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager to grow and develop our international talent base into a first-class team of engineers. Join us as we redefine the future of streaming video technology. While your primary focus will be working with the open-source Shaka Player project, you will be a part of a bigger JavaScript team that is responsible for supporting platforms such as TVs, browsers, consoles, and set-top boxes. Together, we will shape our culture, solve technical problems, and create extraordinary streaming experiences that captivate audiences worldwide.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Mentor and coach team members.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, understand user needs, and provide technical direction.
    • Strive to constantly improve the overall quality through code reviews, tech talks, pair programming and other collaborative practices.
    • Understand business needs and design valuable software solutions that work well within the wider architecture.
    • Proactively estimate efforts and identify any potential risks.
    • Manage team roadmap and capacity.
    • Push technical boundaries while also recommending new processes and technologies.
    • Help foster an environment of inclusiveness.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 4 years leading an engineering team with prior senior-level development experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
    • Must have experience integrating with JavaScript video players and working with MSE/EME APIs
    • Must have experience working with the open-source Shaka Player project
    • Must have an enthusiasm for building a JavaScript/TypeScript library that handles all aspects of video playback.
    • Value collaboration with teammates and stakeholders.
    • Understanding deadlines, constraints and scope of delivery and experience working with stakeholders to ensure the right balance between these are met, setting expectations and handling risks early.
    • Being an analytic problem solver with a strong sense of autonomy, and with an open collaborative approach to getting the job done.
    • Interest in cultivating a strong team culture where engineers of diverse backgrounds can grow.
