    Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting an Engineering/Operations Manager for an optics manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting to the CEO, this position has broad responsibilities. In general, monitor and analyze the organization, systems, processes, etc. for effectiveness. Determine strategies for improvement with a focus on optimization (less focus on innovation although it is an aspect of the job). Ensure the organization is running optimally with services and products that meet the expectations and needs of customers. Oversee departments and budgets and are involved in establishing sales goals and profit goals with the sales and marketing team. Ultimate responsibility for compliance with safety and environmental rules and regulations. Coordinate assignments for staff, review budgetary information, interpret financial data, monitor expense reports, and perform cost-benefit analysis on internal programs.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Oversee the facility.
    • Establish strategic goals and implement growth initiatives as defined and agreed upon by management team.
    • Drive growth in accord with strategic goals and the business plan.
    • Plan operational changes in accord with the strategic goals.
    • Monitor and improve efficiency.
    • Streamline and/or optimize company operations.
    • Perform long-term planning and establish initiatives related to improving operations.
    • Supervise and set goals for all departments.
    • Coordinate communication between departments.
    • Implement business processes for reporting to management.
    • Hire and/or replace staff and/or managers to build capability.
    • Supervise financial management and control.
    • Set and review budgets and manage costs.
    • Review and approve departmental budgets, schedules, financial tracking, and reporting.
    • Determine project budgets and schedules.
    • Manage projects and personnel to meet schedules and budgets.
    • Determine, prioritize, and assign strategic tasks to group / department managers.
    • Oversee department managers and coordinate their activities.
    • Hold managers accountable to goals and schedules.
    • Close cooperation with company HQ for strategy development, R&D projects, production process optimization and Sales & Marketing activities

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering; MBA preferred;
    • Experience in a technical role, followed by managerial experience in a technical design and manufacturing company or company division. Overall minimum of 7-10 years experience required;
    • Proficient in using an ERP system and MS Excel;
  • Compensation
    $130,000-$160,000 per year
