    Job Summary :

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Engineering Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the principles of engineering, foster critical thinking, and promote problem-solving skills through hands-on projects and real-world applications. This role requires a passion for teaching, a solid understanding of engineering concepts, and the ability to engage students with diverse learning styles.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Duties:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering trends, educational technologies, and industry practices.

    • Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.

    • Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.

    • Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.

    • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students

    • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

    • Regular and predictable attendance

    Cognitive Demands:

    • Supervision of multiple students at once

    • Establishing routines and procedures

    • Maintaining a safe and orderly environment

    • Create and implement instructional plans

    • Participate in continuous professional development

    • Effective oral and written communication skills

    Physical Demands:

    • Occasionally lift/move objects weighing up to 25lbs

    • Stand and walk frequently

    • Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat

    • Withstand all demands presented by outside weather conditions at any time of the year

    • Withstand a moderate noise level

    • Be able to perform first aid/CPR if necessary

    • Assist/lift students, as necessary

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, or a related field.

    • Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with a TE, DP, DI, or DE endorsement.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

    • Previous teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in engineering or STEM-related subjects.

    • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices, with the ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible manner.
