Operator Client is seeking a well-experienced Deepwater Intervention Engineer to assist in overseeing offshore operations performed by vendors during completion and intervention well work (wireline, coiled tubing, pumping, BOP/Intervention equipment, subsea production and drilling equipment)
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Design review, interfaces & installation and commissioning of the subsea tree and upper completion (tubing hanger interface to surface).
- The Deepwater Completion/SSWI Engineers ensure all relevant CVX &/or GOM D&C engineering standards & processes are used in the design, planning & execution of all completions including meeting all internal assurance processes.
- May represent the project or the function at co-owner meetings & on multi-functional project teams.
- Participates in performance improvement projects & peer assists as requested.
- Supports project maturation processes & performance management techniques (e.g. Lean Sigma, benchmarking, and lessons learned).
- Drives implementation of improvement opportunities & applications of new technologies.
- Supports the Supply Chain team through coordinated equipment procurement/forecasting & Vendor evaluation/selection.
- Ensure all engineering standards & processes are used in the design, planning & execution of all completions including meeting all internal assurance processes.
- Represent the project or the function at co-owner meetings & on multi-functional project teams.
- Participates in Performance Improvement projects & peer assists as requested.
- Supports project maturation processes & performance management techniques (e.g. Lean Sigma, benchmarking, and lookbacks).
- Drives implementation of improvement opportunities & applications of new technologies.
- Supports the Supply Chain team through coordinated equipment procurement/forecasting & vendor evaluation/selection.
- Extensive subsea completion experience and ability to function as either SSWI (upper completion interface - tubing hanger and up) or Completion Engineer (below tubing hanger) on any Deepwater MCP.
- Willingness/flexibility to go offshore to enhance skills/knowledge of Deepwater operations or support ongoing operations may be required.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Engineering – B.S. Petroleum Engineering or B.S. Mechanical Engineering are preferred
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Developing HTHP equipment in GOM regulatory environment including the I3P.
- Deepwater completion / well intervention planning and operations experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional meetings and Risk Assessment sessions.
- Must have strong teamwork, communication and solid project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience qualifying and testing equipment
- Experience in subsea hardware, installation and interfaces to Deepwater rigs and infrastructure including subsea test trees, completion/workover riser systems, IWOC's, ROV's and associated equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of implementation of internal global standards.
- Experience in both green & brown field environments is a plus.
- Experience working with organizations that rely on internal process to efficiently delivery work product.
- Demonstrated ability to participate and adapt to new fields of work and learn quickly.
