About The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development & Sales Representative Intern to join our team, focusing on lead generation both in the field and using internal tools. 85% of this role will require you to generate business and leads through offsite events such as networking events, demos, business breakfasts, and much more. This role is 100% remote based in Chicago, Illinois and the candidate will be working with our teams in NYC and in Denver.
This internship offers hands-on experience in identifying, generating, and nurturing new business opportunities through direct interaction with potential clients. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about meeting people, building relationships, and contributing to the growth of the company through effective sales strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Help to set up in-office and local networking events to host and attend in order to generate business leads.
- Conduct field research and market analysis to identify potential leads and business opportunities
- Engage with prospects at in-person events, conferences, and networking opportunities to introduce Gesture's services and generate interest.
- Collect and qualify leads through face-to-face interactions, gathering essential contact information for follow-up.
- Support in developing and delivering sales pitches tailored to prospective clients, focusing on Gesture's unique value propositions.
- Manage lead follow-ups & reach out to qualified leads through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings to initiate further conversations and gauge interest.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure leads are captured, tracked, and nurtured through the sales pipeline.
- Assist in setting up and attending field-based lead generation events, pop-ups, and activations.
- Assist with outreach campaigns to drive new business; collaborate with marketing on targeted messaging and promotions.
- Provide feedback to the team on market trends, competitor activity, and potential sales opportunities discovered in the field.
- Support the creation of field marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and presentations.
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure seamless transition of leads to the next phase of the sales process.
- Assist in pulling together customer campaigns in-house for fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to approach and engage with potential clients in person.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with follow-up outreach via phone, email, and in-person, with the ability to engage and qualify leads.
- Strong interest in business development, sales, and relationship building.
- Willingness to travel locally and attend in-person events.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities.
- Prior experience in sales, customer service, or lead generation is a plus.
