    Job Description

    KPFF’s Mountain West Division Transportation Group, with an office in Boise, Idaho, is seeking an Entry-Level Bridge Engineer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects across Idaho, including work for public agencies like ITD, local transit agencies, and municipalities. You will support multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients, contributing to projects that positively impact communities throughout the state.

    • Assist in the design and development of transportation projects, including roadways, trails, and transit facilities, while gaining familiarity with Washington’s transportation standards.
    • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation under the mentorship of experienced engineers.
    • Collaborate with teams on projects that align with Washington’s environmental and sustainability goals, incorporating green infrastructure and low-impact development principles.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to understand regional project conditions and requirements.
    • Communicate clearly with project team members and clients, supporting effective project delivery.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
    • Up to two years of experience in civil engineering, ideally with exposure to transportation projects in Idaho.
    • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred or in progress.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D; familiarity with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus.
    • Understanding of Idaho-specific design standards and environmental goals is preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits.
    • Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
    • Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.
