    Job Description

    As an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist , you will ensure a safe working environment for employees and help deliver high-quality projects. You will handle routine EHS tasks and develop solutions for unique situations. Your role includes advising teams and leadership on EHS matters, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and managing various types of claims, including property, auto, and workers’ compensation. Experience with workers' compensation laws, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements across multiple states is essential. The ability to develop and execute the strategies for an effective claims management program that minimizes risk and liability is also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will read and interpret business documents, contracts, and technical procedures. Overnight travel may be required.

    • Manage workers’ compensation loss control program, which includes monitoring claim levels, reducing costs, and early return to work program.
    • Ensure that claims are reported in a timely manner, monitor claim throughout its lifecycle to ensure effective closeout.
    • Investigate incidents, prepare and maintain required reports. Leads root cause meeting and helps determine countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
    • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the employee, claims adjuster and healthcare providers.
    • Determine compensability, maintain recordkeeping, and claims analytics. Analyze workers’ compensation claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement in risk management.
    • Meets with new Occupational clinics, sets up communication and protocols with local and out of town clinics for specific office locations.
    • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
    • Ability to develop and foster effective professional relationships internally and externally.
    • Increased knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and claims management skills.
    • Develops and oversees the implementation of claims management best practices and procedures.
    • Assist HR in the development and management of Fit-for-duty program as a risk management strategy
    • Independently provides solutions to resolve complex situations related to the EHS matters.
    • Contribution to the development of safety programs, related policies, and procedures.
    • Experience in developing and leading environment health and safety training.
    • Proficiency in Office 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) as well as web-based programs.
    • CPR/First Aid certification and OSHA instructor certifications are preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, business, or a related area is preferred.
    • Minimum 6-10 years of experience in the safety and/or construction industry.
