POSITION PURPOSE
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all aspects of our environmental, health, and safety initiatives. Will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulations, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
· EHS Strategy: Develop and execute the company's EHS strategy, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal EHS regulations applicable to the cosmetic industry. Ensure that Bayport Laboratories LLC remains in full compliance with all laws and standards.
· Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of EHS professionals, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.
· Risk Assessment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess risks associated with chemical handling, product manufacturing, storage, and transportation. Implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
· Incident Management: Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis. Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
· Emergency Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate and participate in drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness.
· Waste Management: Oversee hazardous waste management, including proper labeling, storage, transportation, and disposal in accordance with regulations.
· Environmental Sustainability: Promote and support environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and sustainable sourcing practices.
· Training and Education: Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure understanding and compliance with safety protocols.
· Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of EHS activities, incidents, inspections, and corrective actions. Prepare comprehensive reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP) are a plus.
Required Knowledge:
· Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Experience Required:
· 5+ years of experience in EHS management, preferably in the cosmetics or related industries.
