  • Responsibilities

    SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).

    ‬‬‬ Responsibilities

    • Lead environmental assessments and compliance reviews for disaster-impacted areas, ensuring adherence to FEMA and other regulatory standards.
    • Develop strategies and solutions for environmentally sustainable recovery and resilience planning.
    • Oversee the preparation of detailed technical reports and documentation to support environmental compliance with NEPA and FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP) requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into recovery projects and planning.
    • Provide expert guidance on complex environmental regulations and policies.
    • Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage compliance documentation and maintain transparency.
    • Mentor and guide junior environmental planners and team members.

    Requirements

    • Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Geography, Historic Preservation, Archeology, Regional Planning, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
      • 10 years of experience in a related field.
    • Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
      • IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
      • IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
      • IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
      • IS-253.a: Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
    • Advanced knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability practices, and planning principles.
    • Proficiency in GIS and other planning and analysis tools.
    • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Work onsite in North Carolina.
    • EOD Required.
