    Job Description

    AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Scientist V to join our New England Remediation practice. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders and talented staff across a broad range of environmental disciplines delivering consulting services to our key clients. We are seeking qualified candidates throughout the New England area for this role and offer flexibility on reporting location.

    We have offices in a number of New England cities including Chelmsford MA, Boston MA, Rocky Hill CT, Providence RI, Manchester NH, and Portland ME. Compensation will be based on individual qualifications for the selected candidate. This position calls for excellent organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and incorporate new skills. We seek a candidate with the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) effectively with members of the project team (clients, regulators, office and site personnel).

    AECOM conducts remediation activities for industrial, commercial, utility, federal, and state clients throughout New England. We are seeking candidates well-versed in state and federal remediation regulations who will contribute to the delivery of all phases of existing projects and development of creative solutions for new projects.

    The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

    • Direct investigation and remediation activities and/or provide certification (LSP, LEP, or PE) for projects, as well as mentorship of mid- and junior level staff undertaking activities on these projects.
    • Collaborate with other licensed professionals, and other technical and regulatory specialists to track regulatory changes and technical advancements to develop innovative strategies for site investigation, remediation, and closure for new and existing projects.
    • Provide technical and/or regulatory leadership for remediation projects throughout New England, the US, and internationally.
    • Develop proposals, including work scope, budgets, and schedules for MCP and other remediation projects.
    • Manage or provide review of technical work, and field activities, including performing site visits to inspect site activities, in accordance with the contracted scope of work, budget, schedule and legislative/industry standards.
    • Review, coordinate or prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
    • Work collaboratively with other teams within the Remediation department, and across AECOM internal business lines.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies and add value to client service offerings.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA/BS in Environmental Science or Geology + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's Degree in Environmental Science or Geology
    • 9+ years of relevant experience in an environmental consulting company or working as a remediation professional
    • Demonstrated experience of team management and/or leadership
    • Experience working in consulting within New England Remediation Practices
    • Strong understanding of MCP and budget scheduling
    • Experience working with local, state, and/or government affiliates
    • LSP, LEP, or PE certification (or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of employment)
    • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
