    Job Description

    Overview:

    The Environmental Services / Janitorial position is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within our healthcare facility. This role involves a variety of cleaning and sanitization tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort.

    Responsibilities:

    Cleaning and Sanitization:

    Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and other designated areas.

    Mop, sweep, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness and remove debris.

    Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

    Clean and sanitize restroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.

    Empty trash and waste receptacles, disposing of waste properly.

    Clean and disinfect medical equipment and surfaces according to established protocols.

    Supply Management:

    Stock cleaning supplies and equipment in designated areas.

    Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages.

    Infection Control:

    Adhere to strict infection control guidelines and procedures.

    Use appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to prevent the spread of infections.

    Safety:

    Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisor.

    Other Duties:

    Perform other duties as assigned, such as moving furniture, transporting supplies, or assisting with special projects.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services, preferably in a healthcare setting.

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

    Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
