    Job Description

    Environmental Technicians are the backbone of our company. You’ll be joining a team of dedicated professionals with the opportunity to learn environmental regulations and how we remove hazardous materials from the waste stream. Once trained in this role, you will consolidate, treat, store, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures. This is a physically active job where you’ll be lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds throughout the day, operating a forklift and other mobile equipment to move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load and unload trailers. You will complete required documentation accurately, timely and legibly in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices and procedures.

    Minimum Requirements

    • High School Diploma AND a Minimum of four plus years of experience in a similar role, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Due to the nature of this role, US citizenship is required
    • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check.
    • Ability to travel up to 90% to various job sites within US.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associates degree or trade certification is a PLUS
    • Selected candidate will be required to complete 40 hour HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class, if needed;
    • Selected Candidate will also receive First Aid/CPR training and AECOM specific training;
    • Candidate should have proficient technical writing skills and ability to effectively express his or herself orally in project reviews conducted among internal staff;
    • Experience on Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site and in remediation of environmental sites a plus;
    • Possess strong work ethic and problem-solving skills;
    • Candidate who can exhibit a mature sense of professional responsibility and awareness of accepted standards of professional behavior; and
    • Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs; MS Word and MS Excel.
