Job Description
Provide on site field services to customers in the retail, healthcare, industrial, pharmaceutical and other businesses. Responsible for safe and accurate completion of day-to-day activities including waste characterization, segregation, packaging, and documentation.
· Manage day-to-day activities on customer’s site. to ensure achievement of customer satisfaction while meeting quality, safety, regulatory and budgetary goals.
· Collect and bulk waste from locations throughout site.
· Prepare and inventory waste for shipment.
· Ensure site is compliant with DOT and DOE regulations.
· Manage overall storage of incoming product chemicals for customer site production as well as waste chemicals awaiting disposal. Ensure all drums are compliant with regulatory agencies as well as customer policies.
· Manage safe handling and disposal of chemical waste within DOE regulations.
· Support incident investigations and recommend preventative measure to reduce future incidents.
· Provide training in conjunction with EHS team to customer personnel on chemical safety and handling.
· Maintain records including manifests and training for DOT, DOE, and other regulatory agencies as applicable for customer audit compliance.
· Coordinate shipments with outside vendors for waste streams not managed by Clean Earth.
· Prepare monthly waste reports.
· Conduct weekly site audits that target various focal points; including waste inspections as well as Storm Water, SPCC, safety equipment or other as required by customer.
· Help conduct periodic safety drills to assess preparedness.
· Participate in 3rd party audits; regulatory, internal, and customer based.
· Conduct sampling of materials as needed.
· Arrange transportation in conjunction with waste pickups and supply order deliveries.
· Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
Basic Required Qualifications:
· A High School Diploma or GED
· 2+ years working with hazardous waste
Preferred Qualifications:
· 3+ years’ experience in lab packing
· Some college
· Experience operating heavy equipment
· Possess a valid driver’s license
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Knowledge of RCRA, DOT and DOE Regulations as they relate to waste characterization and the transportation of hazardous waste
· 40 hour Hazwoper and 8 hour refresher certifications
· Supervisory experience
· Ability to manage/prioritize several tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
