We are seeking an experienced Epic Beaker Analyst with deep expertise in Epic build and configuration for a full-time permanent role. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting lab system initiatives across build, implementation, and ongoing support. The role is hybrid with weekly onsite requirements; therefore, the candidate must currently reside in the Indianapolis, IN area.
The Epic Beaker Analyst will possess advanced expertise in laboratory information systems, with a strong emphasis on interface architecture, system build, and configuration within Epic. This role requires a deep technical understanding of HL7 messaging, integration engines, and lab workflow optimization to support and enhance system performance. The analyst will be responsible for managing complex build changes, validating data integrity, and ensuring seamless interoperability across Epic modules and third-party systems.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key resource in the design, build, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Beaker application and related Epic modules.
- Configure and maintain Epic Beaker based on clinical, operational, and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational workflows and goals.
- Collaborate with clinical, laboratory, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, develop use cases, and deliver scalable, high-performing solutions.
- Optimize system workflows, leveraging Epic best practices to enhance efficiency, usability, and compliance.
- Perform full lifecycle application tasks, including system analysis, build/configuration, integration, testing, documentation, and deployment.
- Lead and coordinate testing activities for implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
- Serve as a primary point of contact during go-lives and system updates, providing onsite and remote support, issue resolution, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including business requirements, system configurations, current/future state workflows, and change control records.
- Act as a project lead for Epic Beaker-related initiatives, managing project plans, timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional team coordination.
- Provide second-level support and on-call coverage for the Epic Beaker system, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Deliver hands-on training, guidance, and knowledge transfer to end users, ensuring consistent understanding of system functionality and workflows.
- Participate in the evaluation of new Epic functionality and software releases, providing input on system design, testing, and validation activities.
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, training materials, and governance documentation related to Epic usage and system optimization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, facility leadership, and interdisciplinary teams including physicians, laboratory staff, and IT teams.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and meetings, offering subject matter expertise on Epic system settings, build options, and configuration strategies.
Qualifications
- Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology Certification is required.
- 3-5+ years of recent experience in Epic Beaker implementations, including full-cycle build and go-live support.
- Background in medical laboratory science with prior experience working in a hospital laboratory setting.
- Proven ability in application configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and go-live activities.
- Solid understanding of workflows and operational processes within clinical and laboratory settings.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and create technical documentation.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, based on project requirements.
