Our mixed animal (equine/small animal) is located close to Phoenix AZ (about 50 miles away) and is a well established, privately owned practice. We are multi-veterinarians, including the owner, working full time and covering “on call”. When we are fully staffed the practice is about 50-50 small animal/equine. We are are seeking another full time equine only veterinarian. The best candidate will be someone that enjoys surgery and internal medicine cases as well as urgent care.
Ownership/partnership is a possibility for the right person at the right time. We pay salary instead of ProSal. On call is part of the position and we rotate between all of the veterinarians on staff. Benefits include: 401k, health, dental, vision and life insurance.
Our equine veterinarians do ambulatory work and have a hospital truck as well as haul in to the practice. We do not hospitalize many equine cases but do have stalls outside on our secure property.
Our practice is a little unique in that the snowbirds come in beginning in Oct -through Dec slowly and then tend to stay until May with their horses. And, of course, most of them have a dog as well. We go to the venue as needed – we do not keep a full time presence there. We are a desert paradise for horse lovers. We are located in the central part of the state, offering a mild climate ideal for horsemen seeking a welcoming community for the winter.
We have lots of great equipment including ultrasound, shockwave and scopes. We have the team and the equipment, and an excellent reputation – just need another doctor to support the community.
Experienced wanted -- someone looking for AZ, Rural, GP equine practice specifically. Ideally we hope to find someone who can hit the ground running and is accustomed to running and willing to run!! Our veterinarians do work a 40 hour work week and every veterinarian is expected to be part of the on call rotation.
