Purpose of Role:
The Equity Market Risk Analyst relies on a thorough understanding of Equity markets to provides risk management oversight and analysis on the trading risks of client portfolios, the equity business, and global markets. Product coverage includes cash equities, single name equity futures, options, ETFs, indices, Cryptos, and structured OTC derivatives and convertibles.
The role assists in the formulation of Marex's Customer Portfolio Margin policy, Reg-T, Cross Margin, and ongoing review of positions against limits, evaluating prospective client portfolios to ensure strategies are in line with risk appetite and design, perform scenario analysis on portfolios, and collaborate with traders and quants to review model performance and measures, and propose improvements to more accurately capture risks.
Marex is a Futures Commission Merchant (“FCM”), providing clearing services across energy, commodities, and financial securities markets. In 2023, Marex was one of the 10 largest FCMs in the United States based on client balances, with a top-10 share of industry volumes on several exchanges and clearinghouses (notably ICE, CME, and LME). This segment primarily generates revenue on a commission per trade basis. Marex primarily clears in metals (both base and precious), agricultural products (cocoa, coffee, grains, livestock, and sugar), energy and financial futures and options. During 2023, Marex cleared 856 million contracts, up from 248 million contracts in 2022.

Responsibilities :
Responsible for the analysis and monitoring of market risks taken within the equities product area.
Margin models, model risk, collateral adequacy, volatility analysis, and market risk reporting.
Interface with the equity clearing front desk as well as other risk control, and support teams like Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operations, Treasury, and Audit
Monitor client/firm positions, account balance, and P&L in real-time to ensure adherence to pre-defined risk parameters
Proactively manage client/firm accounts in excess of pre-defined risk parameters or experiencing trading losses to bring within parameters and/or protect the firm's capital (this my include prompt communication with clients on risk parameters breached and escalation to senior management within Risk and the business).
Provide quantitative support and development for MNA's equity risk model and validation needs. Develop comprehensive quantitative tools and formulate analytical models as necessary to identity, assess and mitigate risk across the equity client clearing portfolio.
Perform daily risk analysis on client positions including VaR, Sensitivity Analysis & Stress Testing.
Complete daily reporting of key risk issues to Business Management, escalating when required.
Participate in development of cross-product risk, margining and liquidity optimization initiatives and tools to assist the local business and the group risk management function in better decision making and support the business needs.
Produce daily and periodic risk reports and distribute to relevant stakeholders. Management of client escalation requests.
Conduct liquidity analysis of client / firm portfolios and of individual underlying positions in relation to market depth
Responsible for daily procedures and aligning internal procedures /policies to Risk best practice; identify process improvements.
Analyse and provide approval of Give-Ins, trade transfers and client payments.
Ensuring compliance with the company's regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges
Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

At least 3 years of experience in a quantitative background, in a professional setting, with a particular focus on options pricing and hedging, as well as exposure to risk management concepts, particularly VaR, Sensitivities & Stress Testing.
Risk management background with experience of multiple asset classes and a proven interest in markets (exchanges), especially in prime brokerage and equities.
Solid understanding of financial markets gained in a Brokerage or Banking institution from either the Risk Management or Trading sides; experience risk managing Exchange Traded Futures and Options
Understanding of pre- and post-trade risk controls and their applications.
Solid understanding of processes, controls and responsibilities associated with a Financial Makers business.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, high level VBA skills within Microsoft Excel
Strong programming skillset preferred (i.e. C+, SQL, Python, and./or Matlab).
Relevant professional designation preferred (i.e. CFA).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.

Salary Range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year plus discretionary bonus. **
