PURPOSE & GENERAL AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing and calculating the costs involved in various projects. Your keen analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of project requirements will enable you to provide reliable estimates, contributing to the success of our organization.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Project Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and review of project specifications, including architectural plans, engineering drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope and requirements.
Cost Estimation: Utilize software tools like Blue Beam, On Screen Take off, CAD and manual methods to estimate the overall project cost, considering factors such as labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor expenses, and other necessary expenditures.
Bid Preparation: Prepare accurate and competitive bids and proposals for clients, ensuring all aspects of the project's cost and scope are clearly outlined.
Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather essential information, validate cost assumptions, and address any discrepancies.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with each project and incorporate risk analysis into cost estimates to support effective decision-making.
Value Engineering: Explore value engineering options to optimize costs without compromising on the project's quality and functionality.
Cost Tracking: With the help of Project Management team monitor actual project costs during the execution phase and compare them with estimated costs, identifying any variances and proposing corrective measures if needed.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and organized records of estimation data, cost breakdowns, and relevant communication for future reference and audit purposes.

Qualifications:
Educational Background: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Advanced certifications in estimating will be a plus.
Experience: Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a track record of successfully estimating and bidding on projects of various sizes and complexities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using estimation software, such as Bluebeam, ProEst, RSMeans, or equivalent, and familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, present estimates, and negotiate with suppliers.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimations and avoid potential costly errors.
Time Management: Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities to address challenges during the estimation process and propose innovative solutions.
