Showalter Construction & Restoration LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing properties affected by water, fire, and wind damage, preparing detailed scopes of work, and ensuring seamless project execution from start to finish. You will work closely with property owners, subcontractors, and the project team to deliver high-quality restoration services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
Project Assessment & Estimation: Travel to project sites to meet with property owners, obtain work authorizations, gather necessary documentation, and prepare detailed scopes of work in Xactimate. Ensure estimates are scoped to profitably initiate projects.
Project Oversight: Oversee mitigation and/or reconstruction projects from start to finish, following company protocols and industry standards. Conduct regular quality control inspections and document job progress accurately.
Communication & Documentation: Maintain clear communication with property owners/clients regarding project status, including mitigation, reconstruction, and scheduling updates. Clearly communicate expectations to the project manager and adjusters on-site, documenting and communicating any change orders and insurance supplements.
Schedule & Budget Management: Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion and facilitate the procurement of materials, supplies, labor, and equipment. Develop and manage project budgets while ensuring costs align with the company’s operational objectives and profit margin standards. Support proactive collection efforts.
Team Support & Subcontractor Management: Maintain a reliable network of subcontractors and assist with onboarding new subcontractors as needed. Establish strong working relationships with project managers, subcontractors, insurance professionals, and TPAs to drive team performance.
On-call Responsibilities: Availability for on-call responsibilities and site inspections, understanding the demands of the 24/7 restoration industry.
Community Engagement: Actively participate in local community events to build the company’s brand and network. Establish relationships with business owners, insurance professionals, and TPAs to drive business growth.
Continuous Improvement: Seek partnerships and opportunities to improve team performance and overall project outcomes.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
Communicate well; verbally and written.
Computer Literate; MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook (Email).
Organize, plan and prioritize work.
Knowledgeable of Local, State, and Federal code application and how to determine Code requirements.
Knowledge and experience with multi-family projects
Knowledge of Industry policies and procedures.
Knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
Ability to set goals and monitor them.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
Have high standards of professional conduct with Clients, Subs and in-house.
Maintain controlled authority & professionalism.
Minimum of 3 years in restoration industry with experience and knowledge in water, flood, fire, smoke, mold remediation.
Physical Demands:
Physical environment requires the employee to work in all types of indoor and outdoor conditions.
Frequent required use of Personal protective equipment (PPE)
Role requires having ability to stand or walk, occasionally bending, squatting, climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 pounds.
