We’re looking to hire a skilled estimation professional to assist our busy team by producing proposals, cost estimates, and detailed takeoffs. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the construction project manager to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors • Follow up with clients on submitted proposal and budgets • Create estimates, budgets, written proposals, costs, and updates for clients and project managers • Inspect the construction site to collect necessary client requirement information • Provide accurate and clear quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and assess the total construction costs • Perform takeoffs from architectural drawings and specifications, identify required materials and labor for each area of the project, and maintain detailed notes of all calculations and estimates. Utilize estimating software to prepare takeoffs and drive efficiency in bidding projects. • Work with the Glazing Division Business Development Manager on all estimating needs and a schedule of bids per customers' requests. • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals that provide detailed breakdowns of products quoted as per individual customer and/or job demands. • Complete purchasing on projects as directed by the project management team. • Maintain accurate reporting of project estimates, correspondence, and results of bidding. • Assist with order entry and support for the production team as needed. • Collaborate with Project Managers to understand project scope and requirements. • Taking verbal direction and implementing it into sketches and calculations to produce the final work. Qualifications: • 3 years of experience in the construction industry - project estimating or construction management is necessary • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certification from the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is preferred • Understanding of accounting, data and risk analysis, research methodology, and estimation metrics is vital • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and construction estimating software • Exceptional time-management, project management, and communication skills are essential • Minimum 3 years experience in estimating and/or drafting in a construction field, glass, and glazing experience is ideal. • Technical knowledge of the building industry knowledge specific to storefront and curtain wall systems is strongly preferred. • Proficiency in reading architectural drawings, and specifications and conducting detailed takeoffs. • Experience with drafting software and construction estimating software. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and comprehensive project documents. Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 yearly
