Etsy is looking for a Legal Response & Enforcement Agent to join our Marketplace Integrity team. Marketplace Integrity is a multidisciplinary team within Trust and Safety made up of agents who communicate and uphold Etsy’s listing quality policies.
Pioneers in the development of online content moderation and policy enforcement, the Marketplace Integrity team continuously adapts to meet Etsy’s and our community’s needs. As a Legal Response & Enforcement Agent, you’ll focus on handling complaints related to intellectual property, as well as other niche legal and policy related matters.
This full-time role reports to the Legal Response & Enforcement Manager and is based in Brooklyn, NY; Hudson, NY; or remote.
We protect Etsy by addressing a variety of intellectual property issues, removing allegedly violating listings, and following up with the affected Etsy sellers
We respond to various third-party requests for information
We work to ensure that the Etsy marketplace is in compliance with global regulations
We maintain in-depth knowledge of Etsy’s ever-evolving policies and products
We work directly with members of the Legal team, acting as trusted specialists on important and often highly confidential legal matters relating to all parts of Etsy’s business and policies
We work to develop efficient tools and workflows, collaborating with partner teams to improve systems and processes
We uphold exemplary service levels in responding to proper notices of infringement with expeditious resolutions
Qualifications
You’re a level-headed rule-follower with the ability to apply policy objectively
You have good judgment, logical critical thinking skills, keen attention to detail, and can operate confidently in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations
You have a positive, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-help attitude, and work well both independently and within a team structure
You have a high level of web savvy with proven internet research skills
You approach obstacles with curiosity and use creative problem solving methods to find quick and effective solutions
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
You are comfortable providing and receiving feedback as a regular practice
You handle sensitive topics with composure and maturity
You have a BA/BS degree (strongly preferred)
DMCA and intellectual property, online content moderation, fraud investigation, or paralegal experience is a plus
