If you have a passion for serving the community, love working with volunteers, really care about people, and aren't afraid of some occasional heavy lifting this position may be for you.

    Important aspects:

You must be a good leader. Coordinating and leading volunteers to feed thousands of local families a month is a foundational part of this position.

This is not a desk job, it is on your feet & hands on. For instance, you must be able to lift 40-50 lb boxes and unload trucks.

You will be driving a box truck. No special license is needed, but you must have a clean driving record and at least 8 years of driving with a valid license.

You will be using a forklift from time to time (we will train and certify you), and other material handling equipment.

You will need to be a good multi-tasker who can take initiative to do what has to be done.

If you are a leader who loves serving people and can do some physical work, this hands-on position managing the packing and distribution of our food pantries is for you.

If you like how this sounds, join this small revolution of kindness and become a part of the team at Common Heart!

This position is more of a calling than a job. Those applying must be passionate about feeding hungry families. Be aware, you may receive calls, texts and emails when you are not at the office.

This is a 30 hour a week full time position. The hours are Monday - Wednesday and Fridays 2:00 - 9:00 pm.

Benefits include: paid time off, holiday pay, and others.

A background check and drug test are required for this position.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

A commitment to the mission and vision of Common Heart

    High School Diploma or Equivalent

1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience

Outstanding organizational skills, high level of attention to detail, creative problem solving abilities

Self-motivated and directed and able to work as part of a team

Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation

Proficient in the use of email and word processing and spreadsheet applications. A familiarity with Google Apps versions of these products is helpful

Ability to operate pallet jack, fork lift, and refrigerated box truck

Must have reliable transportation and have had a valid driver’s license for at least 8 years.

Flexibility and a good sense of humor
