  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Director or Associate Director of Group Sales, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    Responsibilities

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to both internal and external customers
    • Maintain positive relationships with all guests, vendors, Colleagues and global sales network
    • Actively sell guest rooms and meeting space to small groups, ensuring quarterly and annual goals are met
    • Solicit new business, engage new clients, and rebook existing clients
    • Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details within the appropriate software applications
    • Assume Conference Services role for groups booked with an arrival of 30 days or less.
    • Confirm and review of function details
    • Obtain rooming list details and request deposits where applicable
    • Conduct pre convention meetings as required
    • Work closely with the Culinary team and Front Office team to communicate group details
    • Meet clients prior to departure to ensure all details of the contract were delivered and to solicit any future business
    • To follow departmental policies and procedures
    • To follow all safety policies
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and other relevant computer applications required
    • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
    • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
    • Ability to listen effectively
    • Highly responsible & reliable
    • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team

    Physical Demands

    • This position requires moderate physical activity

    Required Education and Experience

    • 1-2 years of hotel experience; preferably in sales
