Job Description: Lead Event Manager (Full-Time)
About Us: We are an esteemed event venue in Frederick, MD known for hosting a diverse range of gatherings, from weddings and corporate functions to social events and celebrations. Our team is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for our clients and their guests. We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Event Manager to join us on a part-time basis and support our Lead Event Manager in orchestrating seamless events.
Position Overview: As a Lead Events Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and coordination of events hosted at our venue. You'll work closely with our kitchen team, our planners, and the client to deliver outstanding service, maintain a dynamic atmosphere, and exceed client expectations. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in event management within a fast-paced and enjoyable work environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee, hire, and schedule day of event staff (servers, bartenders, set-up, and clean-up staff).
Planning, coordinating, and executing events from start to finish, ensuring all details are impeccably handled.
Collaborate with the event team to set up event spaces, arrange seating, decorations, and equipment according to the event specifications.
Welcome and assist clients and guests, addressing their needs and ensuring their comfort throughout the event.
Coordinate wedding ceremonies and ceremony rehearsals
Coordinate with catering staff and ensure that food and beverages are served timely and meet quality standards.
Overseeing wait staff will include pre-event briefings and set up. As well as coordination during cocktail hour and dinner.
Manage event timelines to ensure that activities, speeches, and presentations run smoothly and on schedule.
Respond swiftly to unforeseen issues and troubleshoot any event-related challenges, maintaining a poised and professional demeanor.
Oversee event breakdown and cleanup, ensuring that the venue is restored to its original condition.
Contribute to post-event evaluations and debriefs to identify areas of improvement for future events.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the event team.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in event management/hospitality/catering etc. is required, at least 1+ year of experience. A passion for event coordination and a willingness to learn are essential.
A college degree in hospitality, event management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong organizational skills with an acute attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with clients, guests, and team members.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events.
Positive attitude, proactive problem-solving skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
Proficiency in using basic computer applications and event management software is a plus.
