TITLE: Events and Relationship Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer or Chief Executive Officer
Classification/FLSA Status: Full Time, Regular, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events & Relationship Manager is essential to the success of GSGC’s fund development efforts. This role requires a highly organized, creative, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to lead event planning and revenue generation. Responsibilities include event management, production, sponsorship acquisition, grant acquisition and follow-up, as well as detailed tracking of all in alignment with the annual plan and total contribution goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Full duties may include but not limited to:
a. Manage collaboration with the Marketing Team on event concepts, graphic design/production/printing, and event marketing.
b. Negotiate costs and services with vendors; book event spaces; arrange food and beverages; order all supplies/decorations; coordinate audiovisual equipment and operations; manage all event logistics.
c. Manage volunteer committees for appropriate events: recruit new members, schedule and conduct planning meetings, to include post-event discussions.
d. Manage event finances, including sponsorships, invoices, and donations while utilizing the donor database.
e. Manage follow-up with vendors, sponsors, attendees, and staff members following each event.
Manage the creation of sponsorship packages and lead the solicitation and securing of sponsorships for programs, events, pillars, and other opportunities identified in the annual plan of work. Expected to lead fulfilment of the sponsorship agreement obligations.
Research and write grants for amounts under $25K and manage the collaboration with the staff department overseeing grants.
Manage collaboration with the Membership, Programs, and Product/ Operations teams to ensure successful event execution and alignment with Girl Scout initiatives.
Interpret and work in alignment with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience philosophy and the council’s policies, procedures, and standards.
Exemplify active participation in the development of environments that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· 2+ years prior experience coordination fundraising special events, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 5 years of experience in a non-profit development or combination of other applicable experience required for applicants without degrees.
· Budget management and negotiation skills
· Superior time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
· Ability to work under minimal supervision and take initiative in making decisions
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Master User of a donor database, Microsoft Office including Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook
· Travel throughout the council jurisdiction as needed

· Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer.
· Operate office equipment manually.
