This position will require fitting, welding and fabricating parts in shops and dry docked boats and perform repairs to yachts in steel, aluminum and stainless steel, meeting each commitment not only with precision, but also delivering service with a reassuring style. Responsibilities: Fabricate and assemble equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals. Sand, clean, grind, and polish parts Install, bend, thread, and cut piping and shapes and fabricate to specs. Has the ability and experience to work with ceramic Must have full complement of hand tools including slag hammer, punch, rule, square, assorted wrenches, gloves, and welding hood. Specialty tools will be provided to them by the tool crib. Operate grinder, drill, sander, glass bead machine, TIG, MIG, and Electrode Welding machines, burn and heat torches, and hand and band saws Fit together metal parts for welding and weld steel, aluminum, and stainless in flat, vertical, and overhead positions Overtime, nights and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate
Required Skills
The ability to stoop, crouch, climb stairs and ladders, pull, push, reach, hear, near vision, kneel, talk, stand, grasp, lift up to 50 lbs and able to walk quickly to/from job locations up to 600 yards in distance are required.
Required Experience
High School diploma or equivalent trade school degree Experience working with stainless steel and high end mirror finish polishing.
