    Centro Cultural Mexicano, a Washington State nonprofit, is seeking an innovative and experienced Executive Director. We serve thousands of individuals each year with bilingual services, programs, and classes in English and Spanish. The organization focuses on the following areas:small business supports, post-secondary education supports, basic education classes, financial mentorship programs, youth internships, a creative technology maker space program, and cultural events, all at no cost to participants.

    Programs

    Centro Cultural Mexicano is a social justice organization that focuses on direct one-on-one services; we provide programming, events, classes, and workshops to accommodate various schedules, with evening and morning programming. Our youth programs include daily weekday access to the youth spaces which include the maker space, as well as all-day summer access with meals and programming at no cost. Our internship programs for high school and college students develop the next generation of youth leaders.

    Key Priorities

    The successful candidate will lead a 501(c)3 organization that has robust projects and long-term sustainability. The new leader will initially spend time understanding the organization’s internal dynamics and community needs, and building relationships and trust with the community, staff, board and partners. Building upon these foundational relationships, the new Executive Director will need to address the following key priorities:

    Dedication to social justice initiatives.

    Strategic Plan: Develop an assessment of community needs, and update the existing Strategic Plan in collaboration with staff and board. Based on the analysis, implement a collaborative planning process to address community needs and response.

    Business Development: Strengthen current business development activities as necessary to maintain organizational financial stability.

    Community and External Relationships: As the public face of the organization, build on existing, and develop new, connections with community members, funders, elected officials, and community leaders to strengthen relationships and services.

    Strengthen Internal Structure of Operations: Implement structures and policies to further strengthen our operations and services.

    Essential Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

    A college degree in management or similar field preferred.

    At least eight years of executive level experience and success, preferably at a similar nonprofit organization, but will also consider candidates with extensive experience managing another professional service practice; or a combination of both nonprofit and professional services experience.

    Demonstrated success in business development, ideally in the nonprofit sector.

    Experience with grant writing and funder relationship-building.

    Strong business management skills, including organizational budgeting.

    Demonstrated experience evaluating and managing systems to optimize the efficiency and success.

    Cultural proficiency, inclusive practices, respect for art and culture.

    Demonstrated understanding of how to best utilize current technology to support nonprofit clients.

    Job Requirements

    • Bilingual in English and Spanish

    • Ability to travel locally and nationally.

    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
