GCKA is seeking an experienced and dedicated Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of Murfin Fields. This dynamic position involves managing field maintenance, scheduling, sports registrations, grant and funding opportunities, corporate sponsorships, and hosting sports tournaments. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and passionate about community sports.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Handle daily financial responsibilities, including bill payments and check writing.
Ensure all invoices and accounts are paid.
Create Budgets for the organization.
Facility Budget
Bingo Budget
Work with each commissioner to create and manage a budget for individual sports.
Grant and Funding Opportunities:
Search for and secure grants and funding opportunities for non-profit organizations.
Solicit equipment and monetary donations.
Oversee the collection of corporate sponsorships to enhance and expand GCKA programs.
Implement Board sponsored fundraiser.
Review and Maintain Contracts
Facility and Staff Management:
Work with the facility manager to ensure mowing, field arrangement, and general maintenance are completed on time.
Handle weather cancellations
Ensure facility projects are being completed in a timely manner.
Work with sports commissioners and facility staff to assign fields for each sport.
Approve field and building use requests within guidelines set by the executive board.
Maintain a master schedule of all events at the facility
Oversee all GCKA employees, including performance reviews, timecard management, and scheduling.
Make recommendations to the board regarding the size of the staff.
Support Sports Commissioners:
Manage registration processes for all sports.
Design and standardize registration forms to track necessary information for GCKA.
Help sports with website utilization and social media utilization
Operation Support
Bingo Operations
Gain an understanding of how Bingo operates
Work with the Bingo chair to ensure they have what they need to continue bingo.
Work on a transition plan for bingo operations as needed.
Sports Tournaments:
Research and plan the feasibility of hosting multiple sports tournaments at Murfin Fields and surrounding areas.
Aim to host 1 to 2 GCKA-run tournaments a year.
Board-Assigned Activities:
Obtain bids for projects and set up events.
Acquire necessary permits for events.
Attend all board meetings and act as a liaison with the board.
Public Relations:
Collaborate with the public relations chair to ensure timely communication through website updates, Facebook, and other social media.
Serve as the main point of contact with different public entities if needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in sports administration or a related field.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of grant writing and fundraising.
Financial management experience.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
