    Job Description

    The Director, Developer Relations and Executive Producer for Games & Digital Platforms is a unique hybrid role responsible for playing a pivotal part in bringing a portfolio of exciting games and interactive experiences to life. From a development point of view, the experienced candidate will be a creative and technology partner to developers and publishers globally, capably managing the production and successful release and live operation of selected games. From a new business perspective, the highly connected candidate will drive creative and game ideation discussions industrywide, spearhead game pitches, and establish world-class creative development partnerships. The successful candidate will utilize creative and business acumen, and a strong industry network, to achieve these goals. The Director, Developer Relations and Executive Producer will also play a key role in shaping our future games slate, implementing techniques that foster innovation and processes that drive quality. The passionate candidate will advocate for new thinking and calculated risk-taking with a focus on the group’s growth objectives.     Salary range: $130,000 - $170,000

    ** Responsibilities include:**

    • Evaluate the gaming marketplace and NBCU IP portfolio to create and present new game concepts to Games & Digital Platforms leadership, aligned with our overall strategic slate objectives.
    • Communicate UP&E’s Gaming initiatives; drive new project opportunities; and establish world-class creative partnerships via a strong network of relationships across the Games industry development community.
    • Elevate product quality through innovative creative approaches and implementation of best-in-class production methodologies.
    • Lead production and own P&L responsibility for selected Console/PC games, including working with partners to agree on game pillars; problem-solving creative and technical challenges; review/approval of milestones; management of schedules; and overall high quality delivery of such titles. Enthusiastically and knowledgably present game progress to broader internal executives and stakeholders.
    • Conduct external development team due diligence and technical reviews with potential partners to ensure the right partner/project fit; review/approve partner staffing and resource plans as required; recommend partner selections to Games & Digital Platforms management.
    • Present and recommend new projects and partners as a key member of the Games & Digital Platforms game greenlight team.
    • Drive successful partner relationships by engaging in regular, proactive interactions with Production leaders at partners; providing on-going support and a solution-oriented approach; displaying an open-mindedness to, and an understanding of, partner objectives; and reinforcing a commitment to quality and creativity.
    • Lead projects by establishing and communicating clear goals and objectives. Lead performance by identifying areas for improvement and implementing plans to enhance team and portfolio efficiency. Lead team through support of innovative creative ideas, mentoring, and deep industry experience.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on Games industry trends and market opportunities, with a lens toward production processes and development methodologies. Provide insights and inspiration to the organization in the planning and execution of new product offerings.

    ** Qualifications/Requirements:**

    • * 10+ years of console/PC game production experience, working with both internal and external development studios and a proven track record of delivering creatively and commercially successful titles to market
      
      • 10+ Years developing game strategies and product slates, either within a specific game franchise or across a portfolio of titles; experience with entertainment-based brands preferred
      • Extensive industry network across the Games development community, ranging from large studios to independents
      • Established relationships with Games industry thought leaders
      • Production leadership role on 10-12 commercially successful interactive products
      • Proven track record in building/implementing game production pipelines, tool sets, and best practices for production organizations
      • Outstanding project management skills to effectively oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize
      • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to passionately and clearly articulate new ideas and creative concepts
      • Strong working knowledge of deal making, business models, and current Games industry commercial trends
      • Demonstrable experience successfully managing business partner relationships with a focus on new product development, problem-solving, and growth
      • Team player with a collaborative spirit who will drive new ideas while being commercially savvy to deliver great games and digital experiences
      • Ability to receive constructive feedback and act on information

    • Outgoing, people person with demonstrable enthusiasm for new projects
    • Strong interest and experience in developing creative means for interactive storytelling and franchise building
    • Well-versed in gaming, fandom, and entertainment media culture
    • Attention to detail and the intricacies of developing resonant entertainment content
    • Strategic and critical thinking to develop long-term plans for success

    ** Education:**

    • A degree from a four-year college, with a preference for an advanced degree
    • Industry recognized experience required

    ** Additional Requirements:**

    • Hybrid : This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
