POSITION TITLE: Construction Assistant Controller

PAY STATUS: Non-exempt

SUPERVISES: N/A

PAY RANGE: $120,000-$125,000

A reputable middle market Architectural Sheet Metal Subcontractor since 1934, is

seeking a seasoned Assistant Controller to oversee our accounting operations. This role

demands a candidate who is advanced in Sage 300 (formerly Timberline) and Excel, with a

solid background in construction accounting and Work In Progress (WIP) schedules. This

position reports to the Owner/CFO.

General Responsibilities:

Significant Duties:

· Drive corporate objectives, enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with the CEO and CFO.

· Oversee and perform the accounting function through month and year end financials, ensuring the integrity of accounting practices, procedures, and controls.

· Prepare and analyze financial statements, manage WIP, inventory, and corporate administrative activities.

· Lead special projects as assigned by executive management.

Requirements/Qualifications:

· Proven accounting expertise, specifically in construction accounting using Sage 300.

· In-depth knowledge of job cost and general ledger systems, coupled with advanced Excel skills.

· Experience in financial statement reconciliation and budgeting, with a solid grasp of cost accounting.

· Adept in inventory management and payroll tax remittance.

· Strong leadership skills, capable of managing staff and fostering inter-departmental

· collaboration.

· Proficiency in construction billing and accounts payable.
