    GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

    Gain valuable training while assisting the marketing team at Experience Columbus and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission and working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer on a variety of design projects. The marketing team supports Convention Sales, Destination Experience, Talent & Culture and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.

    This internship will require approximately 30–40 hours a week for about 12–14 weeks beginning in May. Hours will be between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. There is an opportunity for continued employment upon conclusion of summer internship. Internship will be hybrid with opportunities to work remotely and in office (Tuesday, Thursdays). Graphic Design intern reports into the Senior Graphic Designer.

    Experience Columbus is a non-profit organization whose mission is to sell, market and promote the Destination Columbus experience to visitors. Our vision is to be the leading force in creating and revealing the best of the Columbus experience to the world. 

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with design & marketing projects that adhere to brand standards
    • Collaborate with Senior Graphic Designer and project managers to produce digital and print materials
    • Adhere to project deadlines and utilizes project management tool to keep track of assignments
    • Assist the marketing team with media library maintenance and asset sourcing
    • Attend Experience Columbus and Sports Commission functions when able and necessary

    Qualifications:

    • 3 or more years of design education (majoring in Graphic Design or Visual Communications)
    • Knowledge of design principles and Microsoft Office. Marketing knowledge is a plus.
    • Knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat PDF.
    • Demonstrate basic understanding of layout, typography and the printing process. Illustration skills are a plus.
    • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
    • Must be a team player, exhibiting strong communication skills and flexibility
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and accuracy
    • Creative minds and a passion for Columbus!
    • A desire to continually learn about differences and promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the community
    • Current with COVID-19 vaccinations, per CDC guideline.
    • Submission of digital portfolio/PDF with examples of work is required
