Experienced Broiler Cook
Job Overview:
Dockside Restaurant at the Coeur d'Alene Resort is seeking a skilled and experienced Broiler Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing high-quality dishes, exceptional grill and broiler skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a Broiler Cook, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests by delivering perfectly cooked proteins and other grilled items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook proteins, including steaks, seafood, poultry, and other menu items, using broilers, grills, and other cooking equipment according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure proper seasoning, doneness, and presentation of all dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the broiler station and surrounding areas.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Monitor inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients, such as marinating meats, chopping vegetables, and assembling dishes as needed.
- Manage and maintain temperature control of broilers and grills, ensuring equipment is functioning properly.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as required.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Broiler Cook or similar role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in broiling and grilling techniques, including achieving desired doneness and sear marks.
- Strong understanding of food preparation, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in high-heat environments.

- 6 months gets 7 PTO days - 728 hours (average 28 hours per week)
- 1 year gets 10 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)
- 2-4 years gets 15 PTO days - 1,456 hours (average 28 hours per week)
- 5+ years gets 20 PTO days - 1,200 hours (average 23 hours per week)
