We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Technician with a focus on tape and linear lighting installation. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality electrical services that integrate the latest lighting technologies for both commercial and residential projects. Job Summary: As an Electrical Technician specializing in tape and linear lighting, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of lighting systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, including the installation of linear and tape lighting solutions, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of electrical wiring and systems. You must possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working on a variety of electrical projects. Responsibilities: Level 1 Responsibilities:
Lighting Installations: Install linear and tape lighting systems for both commercial and residential projects, following project plans and electrical codes.
Wiring & Electrical Connections: Run and terminate wiring for electrical components, ensuring proper connections for tape and linear lighting systems.
System Setup & Configuration: Set up lighting controllers and configure systems to the required specifications.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and lighting system issues. Perform necessary repairs and maintenance on lighting systems.
Cable Management: Properly route and secure cables to ensure the system is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Electrical Code Compliance: Ensure that all installations comply with local electrical codes and company safety standards.
Job Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized work environment at the job site. This includes cleaning up materials and tools after the job is completed.
Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Teamwork: Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Client Communication: Maintain professional communication with clients, addressing any questions or concerns in a clear and timely manner.
Documentation: Properly complete and submit job reports, time tracking, and other necessary documentation.
Level 2 Responsibilities:
Advanced Troubleshooting: Handle complex electrical issues and lighting system troubleshooting without supervision.
System Customization: Configure custom lighting installations, adjusting the system setup to meet client specifications and project needs.
Electrical System Integration: Work with control systems to integrate lighting systems with other smart home or business technologies.
Supervision & Mentoring: Assist in training junior technicians and providing guidance on installation practices.
Project Oversight: Oversee installations from start to finish, ensuring quality control, safety, and adherence to timelines.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure detailed reports are submitted, including project progress, issues encountered, and resolution strategies.
Client Interaction: Coordinate with clients for project meetings, updates, and site visits, ensuring all client requirements are met.
System Testing: Perform final system tests to ensure the functionality of installed lighting systems, making adjustments as needed.
Level 3 Responsibilities (Advanced Technician - Not Required):
Lighting System Programming: Program and configure advanced lighting systems, including dimming controls and smart lighting automation.
Proficiency in Control Systems: Expertise in integrating lighting systems with advanced control systems (e.g., Crestron, Lutron, etc.).
Advanced Electrical Design: Contribute to system designs for more complex lighting projects, including architectural and ambient lighting solutions.
Project Management: Lead large-scale lighting installation projects, ensuring all resources, timelines, and client expectations are managed effectively.
Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers to source materials and products necessary for specialized lighting installations.
Training Development: Develop training materials and procedures to enhance the skill set of the electrical team.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in electrical work with a focus on lighting systems, including linear and tape lighting.
Education: A formal education in electrical technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certification: Valid electrical license (where required) or completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with low-voltage wiring, electrical panels, and control systems integration.
Troubleshooting Abilities: Strong ability to diagnose electrical and lighting issues and resolve them effectively.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and reporting.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
Attention to Detail: High standards for electrical work and lighting system installations.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry materials, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex issues independently and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Lighting Knowledge: Experience with specialized lighting systems (e.g., RGB, DMX-controlled systems).

Safety Certifications: OSHA certifications or other safety-related training.
