Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation up to and including Trial, drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, preparing discovery requests and responses and subpoenaing records
- Manage document management systems and organize case files
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain calendars and deadlines for case-related activities
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and experts in a professional manner
- Prepare Summaries of Discovery Responses and Medical Records
- Assist attorney with retention of experts
Experience:
- Previous experience as a litigation paralegal or in a related legal field preferred
- Proficient in using document management systems and legal research databases
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Professional phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to work as a team to accomplish tasks as needed
- Familiarity with California Court filing procedures and legal terminology
