    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Director to lead our early childhood education program in compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Child Care Licensing regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring licensing compliance, managing staff, developing curriculum, and fostering a nurturing learning environment for children and families.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for children.

    Ensure full compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) childcare licensing regulations and maintain accurate records for inspections.

    Develop and implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Arizona Early Learning Standards.

    Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate teachers and staff members.

    Manage enrollment, budgeting, and administrative duties.

    Foster strong relationships with parents, staff, and the community.

    Implement and enforce policies and procedures that align with best practices in early childhood education.

    Address concerns regarding staff, students, or families promptly and professionally.

    Plan and oversee school events, parent meetings, and professional development for staff.

    Qualifications & Requirements (Per Arizona Licensing Guidelines):

    Per the Arizona Administrative Code R9-5-401, a preschool director must meet one of the following qualifications:

    Education & Experience Options:

    High School Diploma or GED plus

    At least 3 years of verifiable full-time experience in a licensed early childhood program with at least 1 year in a Director or Assistant Director role; OR

    60 credit hours from an accredited college or university, with at least 24 in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field and 1 year of experience as a Director or Assistant Director; OR

    Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a closely related field with at least 6 months of full-time experience as a Director or Assistant Director; Or

    A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with at least 6 months of full-time experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed early childhood program.

    Additional Experience Requirements:

    Minimum 1 year of experience as a Director or Assistant Director in a licensed childcare facility.

    Other Requirements:

    Must be at least 21 years old (per Arizona law).

    Must pass a background check and obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (required under A.R.S. § 41-1758.07).

    Must complete CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)

    Must complete Arizona-specific Director training, including child development, licensing, and safety training as required by ADHS.

    Knowledge of Arizona’s health and safety regulations for childcare facilities.
