    This is an IN-PERSON position at our office in Tarzana, CA. This is not a remote work position. You MUST currently live within 10-15 miles of the office. We’re looking for an EXPERIENCED probate/conservatorship paralegal (2 YEARS MINIMUM) to call our firm “home.” Every day we come to work and make a difference in the lives of clients. We are an established, fast-paced Tarzana boutique estate planning and elder law firm seeking a full-time paralegal to assist with probates, conservatorships, estate planning and trust administration. You will prepare forms and draft legal pleadings, manage client workflows, meet and communicate with clients, notarize estate planning documents, and assist with a variety of firm projects. We are looking for someone who is smart, believes in our core values, who can think outside the box and organizes and writes exceptionally well. You must be willing to learn, ask questions and be a perfectionist in your work, but not be uptight as a person. The ability to work independently, have a solid emotional IQ and have a sense of humor is required. Responsibilities: • Corresponding and maintaining great relationships with clients • Drafting pleadings, preparing court forms and other legal documents such as accounting and supplements to clear probate notes • Managing client files and matters for probates, conservatorships, estate planning and trust administrations • Coordinating publication for probates • Assisting clients in obtaining court bond • Working with financial institutions • Handling deeds and dealing with the County Recorder’s office • Accurately entering billable hours in real-time • Assisting with a variety of firm projects • Notarizing estate plans • Attendance at firm events, such as client appreciation and team-building activities (if local) • Working closely with beneficiaries, personal representatives and fiduciaries Qualifications: • Must have a paralegal certificate • Must be a notary or willing to obtain notary certification • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in probate or conservatorship matters • Typing speed of at least 65 words per minute • Proficient in using Mac computers • Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently but as a team member • Possess the ability to prioritize duties - must have great time management and gear-shifting skills • Possess the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude • Are extremely proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel • Are extremely proficient with Adobe • Proficient in using practice management software • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills • Meticulous file documentation • Have familiarity with timekeeping software • Background check and references required Compensation: $70,000 to start yearly, depending upon experience
