Responsibilities: • As an Experienced Tower Technician in Grand Rapids, MI, US, you must have a background in telecommunications and proven climbing experience. • Show dedication to your work, punctuality, and physical endurance. • Perform tasks at heights exceeding 300 feet while carrying over 70 lbs of equipment. • Prioritize safety, adhere to OSHA standards, and have a safety-oriented mindset. • Be prepared for extensive travel within the Midwest. • Possess valid safety certifications, with paid renewals provided. • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot wireless telecom equipment on towers. • Work safely at great heights in various weather conditions. • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment effectively. • Resolve telecom system issues promptly and efficiently. • Strictly follow safety procedures and regulations. • Mentor and train junior tower technicians. • Travel for projects, with most weekends spent at home. Qualifications: • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in tower climbing or telecom construction. • Proficiency in rigging, tower erection, and antenna installation is essential for this role. • Knowledge of RF, fiber optics, and telecom infrastructure is required. • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics is a must. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are critical qualities we are looking for. • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are necessary. • Comfort working in a team-oriented, high-performance environment is expected. • While CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 10/30 certifications are preferred, they are not required. • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and climbing gear is a plus. • The ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the team is important. • Understanding industry regulations and a commitment to job-site safety are essential. • Being able to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently under challenging conditions is a key requirement.
