Job Title: Expo
We are looking for a motivated and energetic Expeditor to join our team! You will contribute to an exceptional dining experience by controlling the flow of food coming out of the kitchen, ensuring that every plate is perfect for our guests. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented with strong leadership qualities who can command the expo line during a busy shift. If you identify with these qualities, then this job is for you! Salary increases for busier shifts! This is a tipped position.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate food window flow and food runners.
Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
Check receipts and assemble the order for the table.
Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority and alert management to quality issues or long wait times.
Ensure that the food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards.
Assist in the final plate presentation (ex: adding condiments and/or toppings)
Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature.
Deliver orders quickly to customers to maintain efficient service.
Communicate important information to the kitchen and the waitstaff (ex: when a customer has a particular request).
Keep Runner/Expo area clean and well stocked.
Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines, or dishwashing stations.
Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning.
Maintain a safe and clean working area; sweep/mop as needed.
When interacting with customers, preserve the restaurant’s reputation of providing excellent customer service.
Support other tasks as needed (i.e., organizing and bagging to-go orders).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform opening/closing and on shift side work and maintenance properly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Expo for 1 year.
Previous knowledge of food service regulations is preferred.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to life, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy.
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
