Job Summary
Outpatient substance abuse treatment facility is seeking highly motivated Counselors/therapists to facilitate in-person and virtual individual and group counseling sessions for FFS and salaried positions. The program allows for flexibility in the assignment of days/hours but requires a minimum of 15 hours of client contact per week with paid supervision/conference. Weekly supervision and ongoing OASAS-approved in-service training are provided. Supervision is compensated but management requires that candidates facilitate two groups per week
Responsibilities
Provide substance abuse treatment for clients in the program, including group, individual, and family counseling and crisis intervention.
Facilitate groups for adult outpatient clients enrolled in the program and provide individual counseling services for clients on his/her caseload.
Complete and maintain documentation including treatment plans & reviews, psycho-social assessments, progress and session notes, discharge plans, and reports.
Ensure that clients’ medical examinations and psychiatric evaluations are completed.
Attend regularly scheduled case conferences, weekly communications, and supervisory and special agency staff meetings.
Maintain credentialing and attend training
Provide clients with referrals and assist with obtaining appropriate services and resources.
Coordinate services with referral sources such as the Criminal Justice System, consulting psychiatrists and medical care providers.
Participate in intake, outreach, and screening of clients, and provide counseling and referral services to clients’ families.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; uphold all agency policies and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
CASAC, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC; and MSW (if not licensed, to obtain license within 6 months of employment). Experience working with a substance use disorder and/or LGBTQ+ population and/or MICA is preferred.
