    Job Description

    Job Description:

    As part of our project activities you will be involved in a software project in the hardware engineering: real-time embedded & safety-critical control software design, development, and testing. Your role will be to verify the current application System engineering: control Systems Engineering including requirements, architecture and testing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, development, analysis, evaluation, simulation, verification, integration/test of Complex Electronic Hardware (CEH) such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and other CPLDs.
    • Collaboratively work with software, quality, design, and test engineers throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle, from idea and conceptualization, through requirements, design, development, and testing.
    • Demonstrate proficiency with HDL (such as VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog) able to design and develop FPGA-based electronic hardware solutions.
    • Understanding of Simulation Bench Testing along with Hardware In the Loop (HIL) Testing. Understanding of Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) is desirable.
    • Decomposition of systems, software, and hardware requirements to custom logic device level requirements, architecture, and detailed design.
    • Provide guidance to less experienced team members
    • Effectively and timely communicate with project team and leadership to enable quick issue resolution.
    • The role requires the use of various development tools such as Vivado and Quartus, and adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
    • VHDL / FPGA experience, Xilinx experience, Embedded systems experience, or C experience.
    • Accepting a range of experience from recently graduated to 20+ years of experience.
    • U.S. citizenship is required. Dual citizenship should be disclosed.
    • Knowledge in Phython.
    • Knowledge in Visual Basic, C++, Matlab is an advantage
    • Experience in complex electronic hardware (DO-254), or equivalent industry doing disciplined embedded development.
    • Experience in software (DO-178C) is a bonus.
    • Ability to also work directly with PCBs/CBAs is a bonus.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with internal teams.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and lead work packages
    • Preference if located in the Hartford area. Otherwise, must be able to travel approximately six weeks in the year.
