    The Nurse Manager provides daily oversight of the schedule, monitors department productivity, day to day operation, completes employee evaluations and performance/feedback, regularly meet with team members, round with patients daily, oversee hiring and position management, staff recognition and provides support in the absence of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Director

    Salary Range: $56.19 - $72.02

    Hours: 8 hours exempt

    Required Skills

    Minimum Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
    • Completion of an accredited nursing program
    • Five (5) years of nursing management experience preferred
    • HOPD and/or ASC experience preferred

    Required License/Certifications

    • Current California Registered Nursing License
    • ACLS and BLS Certificate required

    Required Skills

    • Ability to manage teams and oversee operations related to patient flow in an outpatient surgery setting, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient patient care between the areas of Preop, OR, and PACU.
    • Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
    • Ability to plan and prioritize work with frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge and proficiency in hospital information technology applications.

    Essential Functions

    • In collaboration with hospital leadership, departmental leadership, providers, and frontline teams, set quality goals and performance indicators for areas of responsibility.
    • Incorporate and assist staff members with assimilating evidence-based knowledge into decisions for the provision of safe patient care.
    • Assist staff members in evaluating practice and creating strategies for further improvement.
    • Collaboration with hospital educator and team to ensure that appropriate educational resources are available. Hold team accountable to participate.
    • Coordinate, facilitate, and manage change within the health care organization.
    • Demonstrate effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of the team and other stakeholders.
    • Collect and analyze data related to performance improvement projects that apply to the area managed to include but not limited to quality, patient care efficiencies, patient experience, and employee engagement.
    • Use effective conflict resolution techniques.
    • Facilitate or serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning patient care.
    • Operational and fiscal oversight for areas of responsibility to include budget review, productivity implementation and monitoring, and variance reporting.
    • In collaboration with management team, evaluate staff member performance.
    • Oversight in staff recruitment to ensure timely posting and interviewing for staff positions to include business justifications for positions when needed.
    • Assessment and planning to improve care efficiencies in areas of responsibility.
    • Ensure that appropriate staff members, equipment, and supplies are available.
    • Ensure staff member compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, governmental regulations, and professional standards of care.
    • Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to team.
    • Directs and coordinates patient flow between Preop, OR, and PACU by developing, implementing, and overseeing processes and procedures that optimize efficiency and ensure high-quality patient care. Utilizes critical thinking to address and resolve any operational challenges, while leading and supporting team leads in the delivery of seamless patient transitions.
    • Maintains a consistent leadership presence in the Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) to provide on-site guidance, support to the surgical teams, and address any operational or clinical concerns in real-time. Collaborates closely with surgeons to ensure their needs are met and to foster a cohesive, efficient working environment.
    • Partners with Perioperative leaders on new flow processes to ensure optimum efficiencies.
    • Ensure all departmental requirements, including competencies, training, and any necessary paperwork, are completed by the specific deadline.
