Responsible for establishing, contributing to and maintaining continuity in the planning, development and implementation of standards applicable to the medical staff organization, relating to credentialing and quality. Serves as an essential link between senior management and the medical staff to promote and enhance good communications and positive working relationship.
Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 hours
Required Skills
Minimum Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree from two-year college preferred.
- Two years of experience in healthcare environment.
- Credentialing experience preferred.
License & Certification
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist preferred.
- MD-Staff program experience preferred
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission standards applicable to Medical Staff Services.
- Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Medical Staff Policies and Procedures.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for verification of information contained on applications.
- Assist, as needed, in quality functions, including but not limited to chart review and OPPE/FPPE.
- Maintains compliance with the accrediting and regulatory agencies (i.e., Joint Commission, NCQA, URAC, etc.) in regards to credentialing while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the statutes and laws.
- Responsible for managing the flow of information between the MSO team, Credentials and MEC Committee members, Medical Staff Leadership and the Chief Medical Officer.
- Responsible for the credentialing, appointment and reappointment processes, obtains necessary data for each applicant and reviews applications and other documents for completeness.
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging database system and for ensuring the timeliness of credentialing/re-credentialing verifications. Responds to verification requests from other organizations in a timely manner.
- Maintains an organized, efficient filing system.
- Oversight of confidential credential files on all members of the medical staff.
- Ensures current staff status, current licensure, certifications, current clinical privileges, TB verifications and continuing education courses are up to date.
- Performs administrative duties to assure compliance with the medical staff bylaws and regulations.
- Responsible for coordination and preparation of medical staff functions; prepares for committee meetings, takes minutes, processes and distributes appropriate correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
