  • Responsibilities

    To assist the Quality Assurance Director in carrying out duties within the Quality Assurance Department in conjunction with product testing, and monitoring and enforcement of Food Safety Management System.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor and enforce the current HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP, SPS and company policies

    • Verify FSP/HACCP monitoring records.

    • Verify formulations

    • Coordinate with purchasing to maintain supplier approvals

    • Calibration and verification of various analytical instruments in support of monitoring activities

    • Perform various analytical measurements in support of FSP/HACCP

    • Perform direct observation or obtain assistance with direct observation

    • Monitor cGMPs and conduct daily pre-operational and operational audits

    • Perform environmental monitoring program swabbing and sampling

    • Notify manager of any situation which may adversely affect company quality or food safety standard

    • Adhere to MIOSHA guidelines and procedures.

    • Adhere to company policy and standard operating procedures

    • Document control and management

    • Work with regulatory, 3rd party and consultants

    • Your role in supporting our Food Safety Management System is to ensure that all policies, procedures, documentation, and behaviors are consistently followed by yourself and your co-workers. If at any time you observe actions or behaviors that are inconsistent with our stated programs, you are required to notify your supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    Must be 18 years or older

    EDUCATION / TRAINING:

    • 1-4 years experience working in Quality Assurance with Food with an applicable degree or 4+ years experience without a degree
    • At least1 year of document control and management
    • Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of quality regulations regarding HACCP, GMP, SOP, SSOP, SPS
    • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, thermometers, weight scales, fat analyzer, and water activity meter

    Preferred

    • One year + industry experience in quality systems
    • HACCP, PCQI, or other relevant industry certifications

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Exposure to refrigerated, damp, and warm environment. Exposure to chemical solutions while sanitizing work areas, and equipment. Work around machinery with moving parts (i.e., conveyors, taper, pumps, packing machines). Use of standard PPE (hairnets, safety glasses, masks, shields, and beard nets).
