Truck Welder

Fab-Tex, a busy medium/ heavy duty truck shop located in western suffolk, NY, is expanding its service team. We are currently looking to hire a reliable, hard-working Truck Welder who specializes in welding truck bodies, equipment trailers, snowplows, sanders, custom fabricates, etc.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape.

Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products.

Install and repair various equipment and component parts.

Effectively communicate with manager if additional repairs are required or if difficulties arise.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 (TWO) years of experience working on trucks, trailers or heavy equipment.

AUTOMOTIVE/TRUCK/YELLOW EQUIPMENT/TRAILER Welding: 2 years, please do not apply if you do not have truck welding experience.

The welder must provide own tools.

Must have experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, plow frames, etc.

Maintain a high level of professionalism, motivation, focus, and organization.

Current and valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not mandatory).

Must have great communication skills within a team environment.

Can work in a face-paced shop without sacrificing quality of work.

The physical demands described here are a representation of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is required to stand, walk, grasp tools, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit for an extended time period, lift/ move up to 25 lbs, and have good vision.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour- competitive pay based on skill and experience

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Flexible Hours

Full-time Day Shift: Mon-Fri 7am- 5:30pm

Part-time: 3-5 days, Flexible hours (Day or Night)

ALL SHIFTS ARE FLEXIBLE

Overtime available, on average 10 hours a week overtime

Weekend availability
