Fabrication Shop Supervisor
Summary:
The Fabrication Shop Supervisor is a highly organized leader responsible for overseeing the efficient production of high-quality goods in our manufacturing facility. This critical role involves managing the fabrication process, supervising teams, monitoring output, and ensuring targets are met within budget constraints. The Supervisor identifies and resolves production-related challenges, manages schedules and workflows, and ensures adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting and extensive fabrication experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven leadership track record, including coaching and performance management
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Proven, progressive experience as a Fabrication Supervisor
- The Fabrication Shop Supervisor oversees team leads and Press Brake Operators
- Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of production management and quality standards
- Familiarity with health & safety regulations and performance evaluation concepts
- Proficiency in reporting on key production metrics
- Expertise in Microsoft Office and ERP software
- Outstanding communication and decision-making abilities
- Attention to detail and a results-driven approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise fabrication, material handling, equipment, and personnel in the fabrication shop
- Maintain quality and ensure fabricated parts meet engineering print specifications
- Submit daily production reports and monitor employee performance and productivity
- Promote safe working conditions and plant safety practices
- Maintain adequate tools, supplies, and equipment for plant operations
- Manage inventory and stock location of raw materials for the Fabrication Shop
- Schedule orders and machine time in the Fabrication Shop
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment as required
- Assist in selecting new and replacement tooling and equipment
- Optimize work methods to maximize part output through the fabrication process
- Utilize inspection equipment and maintain accurate records
- Recommend procedures and equipment for handling raw materials and work-in-process
- Provide supervision backup for the Production Manager as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager
- Shift 6am - 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday

- Forklift Certification (must pass operating and written tests)
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling objects
- Using common hand tools and occasionally sharp tools
- Talking, hearing, and communicating with other employees
- Ability to move and lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and equipment
- Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, wet and humid conditions
- Loud noise levels in the work environment
