Facilities Maintenance Manager - Job Description
Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization's facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure facility and machine reliability and minimize unexpected downtime.
Facilities Maintenance Manager plays a critical role within our manufacturing plant and supports our production team to drive production while maintaining high standards for safety, quality and efficiency standards. This position will lead the Maintenance Technician team, by mentoring team to minimize downtime, implement and manage TPM's and manage CAPEX projects and ensure all compliance guidelines are met.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to maintenance staff and allocate workload accordingly.
Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free.
Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
Ensure that spare parts, components, and tools needed for maintenance are always available by ordering, forecasting, and monitoring material inventories.
Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the organization's maintenance management plan in accordance with its goals to improve uptime and minimize costs.
Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance technicians; monitor workers to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements.
Direct corrections (corrective action) of any maintenance or manufacturing problems that may arise; work with senior management and EH&S Manager in development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Implement and maintain TPM initiatives and develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
Manage all maintenance vendors and contractor relationships and ensure all work is validated, negotiated and supports company initiatives.
Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives by working with production team.
Controls downtime by informing management workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain and complete all required documentation following OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements (e.g., logs, records, checklist, etc.).
Carry out inspections of the interior and exterior of the facility to identify and resolve issues.
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
At least 7 years of experience working with air compressors, motors, pneumatic systems, production machines, pumps, 480v.
Experience in mechanical manufacturing and processing technology is required.
At least 5 years working experience in industrial plant is required.
At least 5 years experience in staff management and development is required.
At least 5 years supervisory experience in a process manufacturing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer skills: including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
