    Job Description

    The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs on chillers, air compressors, water pumps, HVAC units and other auxiliary building equipment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
    • Read, use, and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
    • Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
    • Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement
    • Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause.
    • Follow all 5S guidelines
    • Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables
    • Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, electrical, or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines
    • Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (chillers, air compressors, water pumps and HVAC), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles
    • Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement
    • Conduct TPM activities as required
    • Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)
    • Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues, and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues
    • Perform weekly, monthly, and as required preventive maintenance (PM)
    • Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues
    • Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies
    • Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment.
    • Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed.
    • Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Facilities Manager.
    • Maintains good communications with Facilities Manager
    • Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed.
    • Assists other maintenance personnel as needed,
    • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
    • Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on position
    • Experience with injection molding required
    • Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.)
    • Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics required
    • Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements
    • Ability to push and pull items
    • Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift
    • Ability to climb up and down ladders

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

    • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications required and SAP experience preferred
    • Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required
    • Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts
    • Must be mechanically inclined and can use basic hand tools
    • Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Works in a clean manufacturing and warehouse environment that may include moderate noise levels
